Butterflies...

Well it has been a few weeks since I have blogged, but I am back! My family and I have been on a holiday to Melbourne and Tasmania Australia... What a lovely trip we had. And what would a holiday be without visiting galleries and pottery studios... Melbourne Australia I visited Craft Victoria and Adriana Christianson, absolutely gorgeous, and in Tasmania Rudolf Sibrava from the Artisan Gallery and wine Centre in the West Tamar region. Just Lovely... We also went to The Makers centre of Burnie North West Tasmania... I couldn't recommend it all highly enough!

This is Cradle Mountain Tasmania...

So now I am back with invigorated senses and ideas and I am just craving to feel the clay on my hands again...
Before we went away I started a little project I was calling my butterfly collection. Throwing mugs was the aim and then decorating with hand painted colourful butterflies... Also a few other bits and pieces were thrown in just to give me some variety. So there are flowers, a dragonfly, a bird and chattering. My Mum made me laugh when she added " so how long to you have to chatter to them before you get the results you are after?? " She certainly was quick with that one LOL...  ( Love you Mum xox)
The chattered mugs after they had a good talking too... Lol

While sitting in front of the Television...
With the extras...

So I finished off painting the last of my mugs yesterday and loaded them into my little kiln...

And a little jug...

Ready to load into my kiln for Bisque.
And behind you can
see my little Ward kiln...
Top Loader electric... She's a beauty...
Yesterday I unloaded my kiln and glazed everything... Hopefully I will achieve some exciting colour combinations on my chattered mugs.... And my Handpainted pieces will be extra special with a clear gloss glaze over the top and a translucent colour to match the design inside... So today the glaze firing begins...

If you are looking for something else to look at why not pop over to Mudcolony at http://mudcolony.blogspot.com.au/ and see what else everyone is up to making in their studios... Thanks for stopping by! Take care Annie ...
